The Poker Beard

Ah, the weekend and time for poker !

However this weekend I will be putting in the serious grind on PokerTime to try and improve my game with their MyPokerLab service which launched about a month ago and featured in July’s Bluff Europe magazine.  After logging in to check my current score and report card -

Not bad so far but then I am biased, lol.  Decided to start from the top and work my way through, clicking on “Key Stats” -

You can see my reraising of potiential steals while I am in the SB is simply atrocious, on the right the software has suggested 3 videos & tutorials that will improve my performance in this area.  So, by following this advice I will hopefully learn how best to tackle this and how often I will need to 3 or even 4 bet from the SB.

I need to put in the hands to get a better picture of my performance, so you will find me grinding on PokerTime & feel free to say “Hola!”.

While trawling the interweb I came across this -

“Pokerstars and Party Poker are going to bow to France’s isolationist
(and I feel possibly against EU rules) decision to allow only French
online poker players to play against other French players. Ostensibly
this is so that the planned 2% tax on each pot will be easier to
administer. Not because the French know that they are some of the
worst poker players in the world.

It’s all bad news, simply because, from an administrative point of
view, it makes sense for countries to do this. And in the US it makes
sense for individual states to do it.”

Blimus as Sid James would have said.

Can you imagine if all countries deemed this to be a grand scheme and
cite the French as pioneers, tres non bon in my eyes.  We will be
reduced to fighting it out between ourselves for the now limited
amount of dead money, as the truly bad players safely play against
each other.  The continentals who are truly more xenophobic than us
will be surely tempted to follow this model but those governments will
be the only winners.
