I should have bought a lottery ticket tonight…

Ah, lovely, enticing Rushpoker.  Considered the “Crack” of the poker world and I do like to unwind by playing the PLO games, which lead to this -

Something to bear in mind

While checking out PokerTime’s forum and Blog I found this post -

Love yourself to love the game

This suggests something which I consider to be vitaly important to a profitable session of poker, particularly in cash games where you’ll be putting in long hours.  Your frame of mind and emotional state should be free of worry and issues that are part of your life outside of poker, if you drag those to the table with you then playing your A game will not be possible & tilt is more likley.  Writer Jon Vorhaus concurs and suggests that if you think you mind is on not on the game 100% then you simply should not play, tough given the time constraints on our lives but undoubtedly profitable to implement.

You know it’s going to be a good session when…

I had just taken my seat at a 7 card Stud cash game and on my first hand, this happens -

3rd Street: (1.25 SB)

Seat 4: xx xx J of spades____Seat 4 folds

Hero: 8 of hearts K of diamonds 7 of diamonds___Hero

brings in

Seat 6: xx xx 8 of spades____Seat 6 folds

Seat 7: xx xx T of spades____Seat 7 folds

Seat 8: xx xx J of hearts____Seat 8 folds

Final Pot: 0.625 BB

Hero mucks 8 of hearts K of diamonds 7 of diamonds

Hero wins 0.625 BB

Deliciously odd but turned out to be a sign of a good session, as the Omaha session did too.  A nice little reminder of the place fortune has in our favourite game.
